I am shocked to read this sad news. I feel very bad that I have not been in touch with my alma mater and teachers, whose contribution in my life is invaluable. Pity on me that I am reading the news 3 years after his passing away

I am very proud as a student of Vivekananda Vidyalaya, Digboi and invaluably indebted to the teachers, more particularly our Principal Late Tarini Mohan Dasgupta for their massive contribution in the formative years of my life. I am from 1964 HSLC and my last visit to the school was in 1970. I vividly remember the punishment I got from the Head Sir for not coming up to his expectations in the HSLC Test exam and the affectionate hug from him in 1970 for winning the Academic Gold Medal from University for standing first class first in engineering degree. Traveling down the memory lane I still miss my most loved teachers: Head Sir - Late T M Das Gupta My Class Teacher in Class X - Nirmal Sir, who used to teach both English and Bengali literature My Maths Teachers - Mukul Sir, Mantosh Sir, Gunen Sir Science Teacher - BSc Sir (Late Debendra Nath Choudhury, my grandfather) Other Teachers - Sisir Sir, Spinning & Weaving Sir (subject I studied in lieu of Sanskrit), Pandit Sir and many more I am planning to visit the school for several years now, but the plan did not materialise due to my professional pre-occupation outside India. I have taken retirement now and hopefully would fulfil the wish in the near future.
